What is your current status?

5 - Holder of a Bachelor's Degree or higher with over 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years in project management.

If you hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher and have over 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years in project management, you may qualify for admission to the Certified International Project Manager (CIPM) program.

This certification builds upon the APM by enhancing practical project management skills and emphasizing the importance of cultural awareness and critical thinking. As a result, it equips professionals to effectively lead teams and manage resources, ensuring successful project deliveries, even in diverse environments.

  • Objectives
    Strengthen strategic skills to align project goals with organizational objectives and ensure project success. Improve critical thinking abilities to identify and solve project-related challenges. Enhance cultural competence to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Develop effective management skills to lead teams and deliver successful projects.
  • Contents
    This training consists of 4 core elements of the 6A Competency Model. 1) Strategic Skills Decide on strategic direction, establish vision and clarify goals in an environment of constant uncertainty. Explore and maintain core competitiveness. Create an effective organizational environment and culture for project success. Constantly adjust organizational structure and balance organizational constraints and controls. 2) Thinking Ability Systems thinking. Understanding, analysis, comparison, argumentation, reasoning, judgment, abstraction, summarization and synthesis. 3) Cultural Competence Sensitivity and insight into the heterogeneous culture behind the language, behavior, emotion, psychology and attitude of the stakeholders. Leadership and influence. Build high-performance teams and keep them high-performance. Interpersonal skills. 4) Management Skills Management of project startup, planning, execution, monitoring and shutdown Project management tools and techniques (predictive, adaptive, hybrid) Knowledge area: Plan, scope, cost, schedule, quality, resources, communication, stakeholders, procurement, risks, issues, information and documentation, change, reporting, revenue, organizational change management and lessons learned.
  • Suitability
    The MPM® certification curriculum is tailored for experienced professionals seeking to elevate their project management proficiency. The program encompasses 4 distinct elements, comprising a total of 13 modules and offering 36 PDUs. This certification opens doors for participants from diverse backgrounds, providing valuable opportunities for skill enhancement and knowledge enrichment. To qualify for enrollment in the MPM® certification program, candidates must meet one of the following criteria: Academic: Hold a bachelor's degree from any university in Hong Kong or an equivalent qualification. Possess PMP, IPMP, or PRINCE2 certification. Have graduated from a program accredited by the Association to Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Have graduated from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Professional Experience: Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project cluster or project portfolio management.
  • Assessment
    The examination lasts for 150 minutes. Exam question types: single choice, multiple choice, true or false questions, and situational questions. The total score for the exam is 150, and the minimum passing score is 90.

CPD Requirement

Membership certification must be renewed biennially. To renew, you must fulfil an annual requirement of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), with a minimum of 2 hours dedicated to work ethic. The scrutiny of CPD hours occurs randomly, and if you participate in non-AAPM activities, document submission for CPD hours is not mandatory during the declaration. Nevertheless, it is crucial to retain these documents securely for a minimum of two years post-course completion.
