This seminar will delve into the details of the Bill, including:

Speakers

Justin Lo, Partner

Justin is a partner of Cocking & Co. He studied law and obtained his legal qualification in Hong Kong in 2007. He became a Hong Kong solicitor in 2010 and has since engaged in construction law practice at international and prominent domestic firms in Hong Kong.

Justin has over 14 years of experience advising on contentious and non-contentious matters in major infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, Asia Pacific, UAE and Latin America. He also advises on the full life cycle of a construction project, including contract negotiations and management of claims and disputes. Justin regularly represented contractors, consultants and developers in complex construction disputes resolving by means of mediation, expert determination, arbitration and litigation for major infrastructure projects locally and internationally.

Vivian Wong, Counsel

Vivian studied law at the University of Hong Kong and became a Hong Kong solicitor in 2011. She has further completed the Professional Diploma in Insolvency programme organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2012-2013. She is admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in June 2024.

Vivian has wide experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has advised and worked for employers, consultants and contractors in drafting construction contracts, consultancy agreements and supplier contracts in various local and overseas matters.

Vivian has also handled cases involving different modes of dispute resolution including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation. She also has experience in judicial review and industrial summons cases. She has worked on various complex mediations and arbitrations involving construction projects in Hong Kong and overseas and is experienced in advising various stakeholders in the construction industry.

Priscillia Lam, Senior Associate

Priscillia obtained her Juris Doctor degree and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong. She was qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2017. Prior to law, Priscillia has also obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where she majored in International Business and Marketing.

Priscillia's practice focuses on mediation, arbitration and litigation. She has experience resolving construction disputes relating to major infrastructures in Hong Kong and overseas. These disputes include final account, delay, extension of time, defects, variations etc. She has worked with various employers, contractors, engineers and architects in a number of high-profile construction and commercial projects.
