AAPM Hong Kong and BCS Joint Visit to the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP)

On 12 December 2025, the American Academy of Project Management (AAPM) Hong Kong Chapter, in collaboration with the British Computer Society (BCS), Hong Kong Section, organised a joint professional visit to the Hong Kong–Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP).

The visit brought together project management and technology professionals to gain first-hand insight into one of Hong Kong’s most significant innovation and technology developments, reinforcing the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration in large-scale, future-oriented projects.

Understanding Hong Kong’s Emerging Innovation and Technology Hub

During the visit, participants were introduced to HSITP’s strategic positioning under the principle of “one zone, two parks”, highlighting its role in fostering cross-boundary collaboration between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The guided programme provided an overview of the Park’s development vision, implementation phases, and its role in supporting innovation, research, and talent development.

The delegation visited the HSITP Show Suite, where the overall master planning and long-term development roadmap were presented. This was followed by a tour of the talent accommodation facilities, illustrating how HSITP supports the attraction and retention of professionals in innovation and research. Participants also visited Building 8 (Incubation Centre), which showcased facilities designed to support start-ups, technology enterprises, and applied research activities.

Strengthening Professional Exchange and Collaboration

The joint visit reflects the shared commitment of AAPM Hong Kong and BCS Hong Kong Section to promoting professional learning, cross-sector dialogue, and industry engagement. Such collaborative activities enable members to broaden their perspectives beyond their respective disciplines and better understand the evolving demands of complex projects.

AAPM Hong Kong Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to the HSITP team for their warm reception and informative presentations, which contributed significantly to the success of the visit.

Looking Ahead

AAPM Hong Kong will continue to work with professional bodies and industry partners to organise site visits, knowledge-sharing sessions, and professional exchanges that support continuous learning and practical understanding of major developments. Through these initiatives, the Chapter aims to enhance professional competence while contributing to Hong Kong’s role as an international hub for innovation, technology, and project excellence.
