Boosting Project Management Talents: AAPM® Meets University of Hong Kong

Mr Leo Li, the Chief Executive Officer of the American Academy of Project Management (AAPM) China Region, along with Lisa Liang, Head of Business, and Ms Ivy Lo, the Business Director of the Greater Bay Area, visited the University of Hong Kong on 1 December 2023. They met with Dr Tas Yong Koh, Senior Lecturer and Dr Isabelle Chan, Assistant Professor and Program Director of BSc (Surveying) in the Department of Real Estate and Construction at the University of Hong Kong. They discussed cultivating project management talents, co-organizing activities, competitions, and student career development.

During the meeting, Mr Li shared about the AAPM's efforts to promote project management concepts and best practices. He expressed AAPM's commitment to cultivating high-quality project management talents and promoting the development of the project management industry. He hoped that cooperation with The University of Hong Kong would provide more outstanding project management talents to the Greater Bay Area and the country. He also emphasized the need to open up international channels to offer more employment resources and support for students interested in project management.


Dr Koh and Dr Chan recognized the concept of AAPM. They introduced the teaching and research situation of the University of Hong Kong in project management. They appreciated jointly organizing competitions, industry forums, employment practices, etc, in the future. They also expressed their commitment to promoting students' career development and cultivating more high-quality project management talents.

During the meeting, the two parties reached a consensus to work together to provide students with more practical opportunities and display platforms, further promote practical development and talent cultivation in the field of project management, and provide more high-quality talent support to the Greater Bay Area and the economic development of Hong Kong and Mainland.
